Tips for fabulous holiday dressing

As the weather starts to cool down in readiness for our winter season, many Australians are planning for a European summer holiday. So whether it’s Mykonos for a beachy getaway, London for a shopping spree or Paris for a cultural experience – packing the right holiday clothing is a great way to start your vacation.

Here are our top tips for fashionable holiday dressing:

Less is more

Choose some great basics in colours like black or white – they always look classic and you can mix and match, which stretches your options. This white kaftan is perfect for wearing by the pool; you can also wear as a top over shorts or pants for a dressier look.

Denims are always a good option too – one pair of denim shorts will take you from the beach, to sightseeing, to a casual dinner, with a few added accessories. These versatile denim cut off shorts are cheeky and sassy and look great with a white tee or strappy top.

Choose versatile pieces

To make room for all that holiday shopping, it’s really handy to be able to wear some of your packed items in multiple ways. Check out our paisley maxi – it looks great as a skirt or strapless dress.

Look for easy care fabrics

Mykonos in Greece is an amazing summer destination where people flock from all over the world. You will be way too busy having fun on islands like this to worry about high maintenance outfits, so choose items that don’t need ironing and are easy to wash on the go.

Stay away from fabrics that crush easily and need lots of attention. This fantastic Lost Muse navy floral maxi dress ticks all the boxes – it’s light weight, the crushed look doesn’t need ironing, and it looks fantastic for lunching in an amazing beachside cafe by day, or a fancy restaurant by night. It’s also available in a vibrant red colour. Maxis are always a great option for your travel wardrobe, check out more maxi dresses available online.

Take one lightweight cardigan

Europe is known for its beautiful sunsets, but don’t be caught off-guard – when the sun goes down, it can get a tad chilly too.

So remember to pack one lightweight cardigan – knits are good, in neutral or black. Our picks are the Toby Heart Ginger Batwing Cardi or this Wilde Heart Common Ground Cardigan.
